I'm not sure why you are posting in 'The Green Room', to be honest - General Business Forum may be more suited? Unless there is a 'green' angle I haven't noticed on the site, in which case, forgive me!
For editorials etc I'd probably be visiting the small/medium businesses IN the area and KEEPING it local - I'd also be keeping an eye out for those based in the EMs who post on here to approach them (not approach, rather than spam!! ;)).

Not sure why the green room either, but as far as local businesses go, ones local to her area can be found on broad forums like this too- I'm one! So its always worth a shot.

I agree totally re finding businesses on forums, FYP, but I would think she'd reach more by posting in a more general section of the forum.
Plus, I've seen a couple of 'post for free' threads recently for very local sites and taken a look to find people from MILES away linked - if I was a consumer it would mean nothing to me.
IMO, if I go to a LOCAL site, I expect to see LOCAL businesses, not a site that will place anything on there just to try and improve site content, links etc. Kind of defeats the object of trying a local site in Bournmouth (for example) if I get linked to a business in Manchester (for example).

Alice
many thanks for your feedback
First I was looking for GREEN information which is why I posted here,I am also looking to help all business whether they be local or other wise, if there is an interesting story to tell we all love to hear it and GREEN is very topical as we all know at the moment
I have had features from others on this forum and it has helped both them and me even though they are not local
I did also post in the general section for this and competition prizes and thank every one for the kind offers that have been put to me
DO you have anything to contribute Alice

To your site? I am not in your immediate area, but possibly as I work not too far away so referral wise could probably help you. In terms of prizes? To go towards the financing of your site? More than likely not, to be honest. In terms of feedback to that comment? Yup - your entire post seemed a little confrontational to me. :)

Alice,
I am sorry you feel it was confrontational, I have read a number of your posts recently and you seem very negative to most people on here.
I never mentioned any prizes to finance my web site, I merely requested if anyone would like to contribute a prize for the magazine for 2008, not everyone would like to or can place an advertisement but are willing to offer prizes in return for their contact details etc been placed in the competition and this in fact can gain more reward for the business than just an advertisement, this is also true of an editorial feature.
If you know of anyone who may be interested in seeing how we can help with their business profile within the community that we serve, then this would be very much appreciated and welcomed.
Again sorry if you felt I was been confrontational this was not what I( intended.

You find me how you find me. I'm not going to defend or justify myself to you.
My main concern was what the hell am I giving a prize to? Who/what will it benefit? And that, if I were in a position to offer you one, would STILL be my main concern.
Other than that, take a look at what I posted in response to your post.
My perceived negativity or whether or not I was helpful didn't bother you this morning, either - and if you take a look at a small selection of my posts to make a point, that drives my opinion of you lower. If you wish to continue to degrade me or my opinions, I invite you to communicate in a PM conversation, as this interaction does little for your goal.
In addition, my posts referred to your original post which made no comment regarding 'green issues', did not state what the prizes are for and did not allude to the fact that your local site wishes to advertise businesses outside the West Midlands. So sorry I did not understand your copy. Had you made it a little more clear, I may have been a little more positive - evemn though I still stand by my first comments.

All the best
This kind of banter is not for me and I do not wish to enter further into it with you, this is for the playground.
I thanked you yesterday for your reply to my other post and thank you again for your comments
Have a nice day:)
