Basically it says less resources are used if people share living arrangements. So (gasp), the proverbial one legged satan worshipping diesel dykes who live together are greener than the local single priest....

Another report (http://www.dailymail.co.uk/pages/live/femail/article.html?in_article_id=495495&in_page_id=1879) over here that caused a bit of a fuss was about a woman who had no kids because kids used up the valuable resources of Mother Earth.
So Darwin was right then....
