Hi,

I have designed a great new family board game, based around recycling.

Do you think it will sell?

Great for promo etc.........

Any suggestions?

Thanks
Dave.

i'm not in the best position to comment as I'm not really 'green aware' and to be honest being green is not high on my list of priorities.

I think it could be a goer myself,

but it also depends who you are aiming it at.

I think it would be great if it was for youngsters rather than teens, adults.

Explain about it more, context of it.

Basic idea:-

Race around the board collecting waste in your colourful wheele bin playing piece.

1st player to fill their bin and get to the recycle cente wins.

Play and learn....

The whole game including packaging is made from recycled materials:)

Interesting.

Sounds like something that would be easy to market in a low-cost way. . .You get an online version of the game made[Talk to Julian at Games4business, he's generally lurking around here somewhere], get links from recycle-friendly organisations and government websites. Look forward to huge exposure and the warm glow of knowing you are doing your bit for the environment. . .

Oh, you might make some money too :D

Have you thought about adding a landsite monster in there. Something comical looking that gobbles up players rubbish from their bins, if they do something wrong.

Sounds OK to me:)

What a great idea CMW, love the idea of a landsite monster....

An online version would also be great fun, thanks Wiggy.

Any more suggestions?

Cheers

Schools now have to tackle recycling issues through citizenship lessons and there is also an eco schools programme that schools can sign up to which is gaining in popularity. If you market it as an educational product for schools rather than for your average family at home to play it might sell better. Perhaps get in touch with eco schools (encams) to see if they can help.

I'm sure you've thought of this - but you need to make sure you use recycled/sustainable materials or else your target audience will not buy it!

I reckon it could be a success - recycling is more of an issue these days and I'm sure there's lots of parents who want to encourage their kids to think about it, the schools route is maybe more likely though. I think its something the press might pick up on too - people like Lucy Siegle (http://lifeandhealth.guardian.co.uk/experts/lucysiegle/0,,1607841,00.html) etc would write about something like this.

Maybe contact Recycle Now (http://www.recyclenow.com/) with your idea as I believe they do a lot with schools.

Good luck with it!
