What is a reasonable cost for a decent XML developer to create an interface on our website?

It's a bit of a vague request.
You don't generally get "XML developers" - various langauges can output XML.
And what kind of an interface?

If it's XML to Flash, or PHP ouput to XML and back again we can help out.
I am presuming you want to do an Import / Export of data ?

Hi Ibscom
A little more detail would be helpful. Is the integration for supply chain management between you and a supplier?
What backend database do you currently use?
This is something I can help with and can either be costed as a project or as a day rate.
Drop me a pm or give me a call (07734925239) to talk about this project so that I can get a better handle on what needs doing.
Many thanks

If the interface is just a feed that you are providing as an export feature for some other site to import, then an XML feed isn't much different to a normal web page which displays that information. The only difference will be that the XML feed outputs XML code, whereas a normal web page outputs HTML code.
Similar skills would be required for both jobs, i.e. the coder would not just need skills in the output coding language (XML or HTML), but they will also need skills related to your site's server side development environment, e.g. ASP, SQLServer.

Sorry Guys
I've been mega busy so I've not been able to access this site for a couple of days.
It's just an idea at the moment but I need to see if its going to cost me the earth. I am looking at supplying a brokerage service for wesite advertising via one of my websites. The only problem is to one ensure the advertising is entered correctly on the third party site and also to ensure it stays there for the subscribed period.
So what I want is some way of gererating code in a suitable form so the advertising sites we broker can easily install it on thier sites in the form of a side bar or just advertising box.
I believe you can do this using XML and a programing language or scripting language.

Sounds straight forward enough. Wouldn't break the bank. The XML generation is the easy bit. It's the code for you/advertisiers to manage their content that would be the bulk of the work.
If you're working wiht PHP then I'd recommend Gary at Creospace. If Windows/ASP/ASP.net then try Simon at Atlas CS.
