Competition Sites Grrrrr

Hi

I often find running a competition in a mag, & using an auto responder to collect the details works well & gets me many new subscriptions & business.

The latest one Ive run was picked up by one of these competition websites
& the McNuggets have put it all over the net - resulting in many entries.

Can I legally do anything about this to stop these muppets?

It would be difficult to do much about it.... with it being open to everyone (ie no purchase necessary) means the rules on the competition are much more laxed. If you were to do anything like saying you must have purchased a copy of "X weekly" or what ever mag the competition is being run in then would move the competition into another section of gaming and so much heavier regulation.

From a technical point of view it would be easy to block a large proportion of them, check the referrer of the visitor and have a dictionary of sites that are blocked but the legal issue above is the bigger issue in my mind
