Found this, thought it was interesting and relevant. Although I'm becoming exasperated with all the conflicting information we are given all the time. It seems like everything is up for debate and there are never any real facts to hold onto because there's always someone to come along and counteract them. I guess it's really a case of doing what you can to reduce the destructive mark you make on the world.

The problem with logging in the developing world is not that it happens but that it's not part of a forest management plan. There's nothing much wrong with chopping down trees for our benefit if we plant others in their place and manage the effects on local wildlife.
