hello All,
On this site I am trying to sale parts through e-commerce, but I am little confused as to the starting of it all.
It depends what your starting point is. If you already have an advanced ecommerce site you should be able to simply add categories and products yourself using the admin system. If you just have a normal non-ecommerce website then adding ecommerce is a more involved task.
To provide your web address so people can better advise, just reply to this thread, and rather than typing the full web address, miss out the www and use spaces instead of dots, e.g.

Thanks for the link. So it looks like you have a custom developed website based on an osCommerce template.
Since osCommerce is an advanced ecommerce system, you should be able to add categories and products yourself using the osCommerce admin system. If you are having problems with this, speak to your web supplier, or have a look on the www.oscommerce.com (http://www.oscommerce.com) site for tips and documentation.
If you want more serious web development help, like changes to code to get something working, then speak to your web supplier (if you are still speaking to them) or post on the tenders section in this forum, saying you want help with changes to your osCommerce system, there are usually a couple of developers who respond to these kind of posts, e.g.:
www.ukbusinessforums.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=40162 (http://www.ukbusinessforums.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=40162)
www.ukbusinessforums.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=43170 (http://www.ukbusinessforums.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=43170)
Unfortunately my company cannot help you since we do not get involved with custom bespoke development of this nature. We focus on our own hosted managed ecommerce sitebuilder system (http://www.awebapart.com) which has our own custom version of osCommerce as the shop section. The only way we we could help is if you moved over to our service and become a client that way.
There are a number of things you should be aware of going the osCommerce template route, I described a osCommerce template checklist (http://www.ukbusinessforums.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=29170) in a post earlier this year.
With your particular setup you also need to address the home page redirecting to the catalog directory, as this will not help with your search engine rankings.
