Hello UkBf.
We have spent months through TAMBA, developing our viral game which launches to day along with the website.
Until now I have had little experience of them. Your thoughts and opinions on this method and the 'addictive' game itself will be most appreciated.

Hi there,
Brilliant website and a very good game! TAMBA Internet have a fantastic reputation in the industry. I wouldn't expect any less from them. I tried to get a quote from them on two different occasions but neither time did they get back to me. Probably cost a fortune anyway. (I know they do quite a bit of work for the BBC)
I love the level on the game where you have to get the vacuum and clear up the rubbish.. very amusing!
The site has a great layout and the use of colours is fantastic... lovely clean look and easy to navigate. I would be extremely happy if that was my site.
What was it like working along side TAMBA?

Cheers Darren,
Well, I have not had the pleasure of direct contact, however my 'Capitan' has not a bad word to say. I have found as you have pointed out they have a very good reputation.
In the past the only snag about companies with a high profile (like tamba) have been it may be sometimes more difficult to make small changes - quickly, without adding extra costs.
But its all good - Ive spent a silly amount of time playing it today, fingers are hurting.
Viral games suggest just what I am about to- if you like the game and the site - be sure to pass it on to your friends and colleagues:-)
What score did you get?

Pleased to hear everything went well with TAMBA.
Only got the level 6 my first go... I had problems lifting the box and carrying it, ran out of time!
Will pass it on to my friends to see if they can beat me. Currently trying to better my score ;)

Nice one guys -
so far so good:)
Whats been bothering me a little are some reports/comments I found on the web and other forums from companies who used a viral game as part of their marketing...........Don't get me wrong It was all positive....
Think thats the point though......The game worked so well for some , they stated the next time they did another one, they would ensure they were prepared this time...( taking on more staff etc) - only stumbled upon this feedback recently.......Quite frankly, I am bricking it in terms of the 'Busy time' that lays ahead.
Just hope Ive got the gumption to step up the the mark required, If we do end up growing at a 'viral' rate.:redface:
(maybe having that 'life' I thought Id be able to have doing this is still a little way off yet:))

em..nice looking etc - however I feel its a little shallow in the playability. It needs a little challenge to it. e.g. a bad guy to avoid.

That's great news. Enjoyed the game :) Games really do work for Viral Marketing, especially if they are specific to your industry or business/products and services. Once you have the game it needs to be backed up with a big of strategic marketing, but once you kick-start it then the momentum keeps going.

Catherine.
If you send me your email address in a PM, i'll send you a document containing some of our work. We should have 8 more games completed this month. Some of which we are working on Marketing campaigns for to kick-start them. Previously, we've designed games for other games companies under NDA, which they take credit for, so we decided to setup G4B as part of our main Game development business www.something2play.com (http://www.something2play.com) and build up our own public portfolio. A few of the companies we've done work for, we take part payment and part IP (shares) if we believe in their idea so much we invest our time and money into their idea. We've been so busy this month with developing games for viral marketing, our own G4B website has not yet officially launched, we hope to have some time at the end of this month to update it.
Let me know if we can help push your game out there further if things start to slow down for you. We have several marketing plans for uk, usa and international. As a proof of concept, we could bring in upto 800 people to your game in 2 days for just £50-100 on an international level, the viral marketing would then take its momentum. Oh and we'd advise you to make sure you have enough bandwidth on your hosting plan, just in case. It has been known for a campaign to be so successful that it's cost £400 in excess bandwidth charges with 15000 visitors in a month. This wasn't for a game, but a business card wizard software we designed that was free, and promoted the professional version which was not free.
Edit: Forgot to add, the 800 people were prospect sales, the true value of visitors was so much more, with repeat visits.

What is the reasoning behind adding games on to your business website?
I know it's viral marketing but what does it do?
Stupid question probably, but I don't quite understand what a game can bring to your website.
p.s. love the website and the game is addictive.

It's a marketing tool to inform people of your business, products and services and while doing so you are creating a game based on what you do, educating people about your business while having fun playing it. I've used this example many times, but a golf game, brings in people who love to play golf. Embedding the game in your website, or linking the game to products and services you offer at the end, provide a competition to win a set of golf balls. You would be surprised how many people play games in the office environment, and at home. Capturing peoples email addresses to notify them of who the winners are, and the scores by email every month or quarter and while doing so you are providing them with info on your products and services, keeping them on your mailing list by saying they only have to enter once will keep them signed up to your mailing list with an opportunity to win another day. There are many other way to promote your business within the game itself. Once you have people signed up, it's up to you to bring in the prospect sales, by communicating to them effectively or making sure your website is up to scratch.

We have a few viral games on our site that have brought millions of visitors over the years and produced good links.
I don't think this game is going to set the internet on fire. It lacks longevity, I found it a bit boring and the character wasn't endearing.
I don't have sound on my PC so I don't know how amusing that was.
However, as long as you didn't pay much for it, I hope it achieves what you are setting out to do with.
