I have seen the various threads regarding on line payments and wonder if anyone has any experience of on line subscriptions.

At the moment I use paypal, which works well for me as I can very easily get the html for different monthly subscription amounts or one off payments.

I do not want to lose this as it is essential to ensure I have control over pricing/ special offers e.g. first month free etc

The only down side is the transaction cost although up side is there is no set up costs.

Anyone else have any other experiences / constructive advice etc.

Thanks

Hello, sorry I cant help you on this matter. But my question is can you tell me how to set up a subcription account with paypal and how it works a little. Do you think you lose any custom through paypal, and do the customers have to register or be registered. I am in the process of trying to sort this at present.
Many Thanks

Here is the link to the paypal subscription info:

https://www.paypal.com/uk/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=p/xcl/rec/subscr-intro-outside

Very easy to set up – less than 5 minutes per subscription.

I offer a service payable by monthly subscription and customers do have to be registered.

Have had no negative feedback about the use of paypal by customer. Works well – my post is to see if they are other options out there and what the costs of those are compared to features available.

My ecommerce site is based on subscriptions. I use Optimal Payments because they are flexible and cheap, and the in-line solution looks more profesisonal than Paypal.

They have a good web based service where you can change payment details or frequency to whatever you like.

On the downside customer support is based in Canada.

Let me know what decision you make as it would be good to hear the thoughts of others on this subject.

Making payment online is easy but still a case doubted by most people of our country.

One fact is that,we made our panyment already and of course we got the goods we salected.but, unfortunately, ours password of bank account was stolen by the others.

Similar things happend around us.so i would rather to pay by cash than online payment.

Payment safety is the haze when we wanna try this new and convenient way.
