Top Careers at Rolls-Royce event
Rolls-Royce hosted a glamorous event in the Science Museum on the 14th June.
This event marked a celebratory occasion for science in schools. Every year since it launched back in 2004, the Rolls-Royce Science Prize awards invites schools and colleges to submit a proposal online for an opportunity to receive recognition for their good work and a cash prize!
Mrs Eiman Munro, a former teacher at Woodbridge High School, was invited to attend the grand ceremony hosted by TV personality Philippa Forrester.
“I was so excited to be asked to attend this event and even more flattered when the organisers requested the resource I have created for schools, called Top Careers in Science card game, to be included in the gift bag for their guests!”
The Top Careers in Science card game has already received an Innovation Grant from the London Development Agency. Amongst its sponsors include Rolls-Royce Science Prize are AstraZeneca, nPower, British Airways, Vodafone and over 20 other organisations. The game encourages pupils to consider the variety of careers within Science and Engineering. “The aim is to provide a fun way to bring attention to science based careers within schools and hopefully have more pupils choosing a science route”.
“Having Rolls-Royce Science Prize, as a sponsor for the Top Careers in Science card game, as with all the sponsors, adds a lot of credibility to this project.”
Seven Kings High School have been testing the game with their pupils and provided promising feedback on the game itself. More information about the game can be gotten through Loop Cards Publishing Ltd www.loopgames.co.uk.
