I want to accept debit cards, both online and on the phone with our customer service advisors.

Because of our company structure we have been unable to accept Debit cards in the UK. We are a registered branch of a Norwegian company, in turn subsidiary to a norwegian holding company. The ultimate directors of this company are all norwegian.

For this reason - and only this - I have been declined by PayPal, Metacharge (Deutsche Bank), Streamline and Lloyds TSB.

It is frustrating that the smallest corner shop can accept debit cards, but a larger operation can not. We can process Credit Cards, but not UK debit cards.

What could be interesting, is to buy these services from another company with a virtual terminal. Anyone who thinks that can work?

I don't feel that establishing a UK subsidiary for debit card payments alone would be useful.

Anyone got an idea?

We are in france, we use WorldPay for our card processing.

They accept all UK credit cards and debit cards. We use a custom build online basket and use the worldpay Access for over the phone bookings.

They specialise in any country businesses, give them a look
