Hi Guys,

Seems my hosting company is closing down and I've got to move by the 12th June.

I want a host in the UK who is reliable and provides good customer service with resonable fees.

Any recommendations please?

Thanks,

Darrell

I've used Zen internet (http://www.zen.co.uk/hosting/) for my hosting for a long time and would highly recommend them. Great customer service, although not the absolute cheapest.

Hi Darrell,

We can certainly help you.

Do you know what platform you use with your current hosting? i.e. Windows or Linux? We offer both Linux (http://csnewmedia.co.uk/hosting/linux/) & Windows (http://csnewmedia.co.uk/hosting/windows/) Hosting all hosted in the UK and backed by 'true' 24/7 365 days a year technical support. Along with this we can migrate your site to our servers free of charge without any or very little downtime.

We host many UKBF members, if you do a search for csnewmedia on the forum you will be able to read the many recommendations. :)

Feel free to PM me or contact us via our website if you have any questions.

Cheers,

I can recommend Carl very highly.

I moved a few months ago and have been totally impressed with customer service and support - I have even had a response to a query on a Sunday within an hour or two and my old host took up to 48 hours to even acknowledge receipt of a support request.

I've used www.betterwebspace.com (http://www.betterwebspace.com) in the past, their customer service is personalised and some of the best I've ever experienced!

Well,

Much less change of them dropping off the face of the planet tomorrow, also they normally have more support staff and stick by there guarrantees. Ive only had problems with smaller hosting companies.

By using that train of thought no one who started a new business would ever get a look in.

Thanks Damion :)

Interesting comments about only use large hosting companies. We've been in this business now for over three years and it would be near enough impossible for us to just drop off the face of the earth.

The big difference between smaller hosts like us and Lycos/1and1 is purely customer service. We don't operate call centres full of faceless drones, we have hands on access at all times to what's important, etc I really don't understand hopw anyone can think that hosts such as Carl and I are any less professional in any aspect than the big boys.

Sure there are hosts run by 16 years olds when they're not in school but it's easy enough to suss them out.

It really depends if you want a host that actually gives a monkeys about you and your business or a host that just treats you like a recurring invoice ;)

Question for Lex and Inova. How many domains do you think I actually look after?

TBH the amount of domains you look after is irrelevant. No amount of persuasion could change my mind just because of my experience with hosting.

I could run a hosting company myself, ive done it before, i currently own a server for several of my websites, but if i had the choice to host just 1 website id go for a large well known company.

How is it not relevant? It gives an extremely good indication of how established a company is.

I'm not trying to change your mind, I'm just putting forward the point that size is not everything ;)

I was with a large company. Service was lousy. I changed to Carl at csnm and have found his service outstanding.
I therefore have no hesitation in recommending him.
