Hi,

Does the link command in the search engines show the deep links to the site?

For example:

would typing into Yahoo "link:ukbusinessforums.co.uk" show the deep links into http://www.ukbusinessforums.co.uk/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=56 or would it just show links to the actual homepage?

Also seems like Yahoo is now the only good SE for link command, as Google only returns a few links and MSN no longer has any output for the link command.

Thanks,

Darrell

From memory, there was another command "linkdomain:" for deep links.

Hopefully someone with a more active brain will confirm (I'm doped up on beechams!)

No link:www,yoursite.co.uk will not show the full extent of your links. You need google site map or similar prog for that

You need to log in to Yahoo! Site Explorer (for which you'll need a Yahoo! ID)
http://siteexplorer.search.yahoo.com

You can then see all incoming links to your site *and* any of your competitors... which is kind of handy.

It isn't the greatest interface in the world (Google's is much nicer) but it's the only one that lets you see your competitors' links. Google requires you to verify your ownership of a site which obviously you can't do without FTP access.

Just use link:URL (including http:// www ), etc. That should show you the deeplinks to a particular page.

linkdomain: DOMAIN will show all links for that domain.

You can run both on Yahoo! Search without a Yahoo! ID.

Of course, both according to Yahoo!, and that involves nofollowed links and some redirects, too.

Cheers for the info guys much appreciated.

Anyone ever used www.articlemarketer.com (http://www.articlemarketer.com)before? I was thinking of getting a 3 month sub. Any recommendations or reviews would be much appreciated.

Thanks,

Darrell

Darrel this will get all the links to your competitors, don't take much notice of the actual SEO part as it just compares your site with the top ten.

you want IBP
