Hi all,
Payments via our website are not really necessary/ convenient for our clients at the moment, however a lot of them request to pay over the phone.
I am wondering if you still need the merchant account etc in this instance?
Thanks!

Yes you do and a method to take the payment. Either a terminal or a virtual terminal with Protx or the like or a Wordpay account with the vitual terminal service.

Paypal now have a "virtual terminal" for UK customers - so that you can take orders over the telephone and payments are paid into your paypal account (assuming you have one)

I've been looking at this (http://www.mobilepos.co.uk/index.html) as an alternative method of taking credit/debit card payments. Card details can be entered in to a Java app running on your mobile phone, or via the internet.
Any thoughts?

hi john,
thanks for that- it could be good at least in the short term for us. Does anyone have any experience using this company/ system?
