Dilema time!!
A Nochex seller account only allows you to do transactions up to £100. They then tell you to open a Nochex Merchant account, problem is that the merchant account has a minimum transaction level of £1000 per month. What happens if you only process say £800 a month but the individual transactions are each £100+ ???
On that note I have been looking at Protx and World Pay and so far Protx have been looking the one to go with.
Any experience with Protx etc / comments?

Protx are excellent but you have to remember they are only a gateway, you still need a merchant account with your bank.

Yeah I realised that. I have approached LLoyds TSB for a merchant account and I am just awaiting their response. :)

Hmmm. Just checked the small print on the Lloyds TSB site. They also expect a minimum of £1000 in transactions per month. Is this normal for all merchant accounts??

ah ok, alot of people think that's all they need :)
In that case, definately go with Protx once your account is set-up. In terms of cost, availibility and technical integration, they are one of the best out there...

News to me if it is as we started up them after telling them it would be around £8k/year. Best to give them a quick call...

Nochex merchant account can be set up with under £1k per month of transactions. If you apply, they will call you and talk through it all.

Was it someone on this site who said that nochex use protx as a gateway themself? i think someone had a chat with someone at nochex - can someone confirm this.

I recently opened a business account with Abbey- Free banking for life (unless you go over a limit). I am now looking at streamline £100 set up as oppose to the normal £250. then Secpay, £10 a month up to 100 transactions a month. I think its a great deal as I have been looking for ages.
Good luck
Tracey :-)
