Hello all

My new site is due for launch at the end of March, while looking at streams of revenue, I have pointed to Google Adsense

Has anyone here used it? do you actually earn from it

I am a little wary of having this type of advertising on my site, as it seems to cheapen a design a little and give reason for a visitor to leave your site.

Any tips or oppinions on this would be good

Thanks

Julian

Hi Julian . . . I have placed it on my site following lots of pointing from other users. I do not work at it in any way, and it is placed at the bottom of all the content. I have been pleased with my earnings so far. If you wish to know details, please PM me.

I used it for a while and in 6 months it paid me just under $200.00 - it is all dependant on your site visitors, i.e how many and their buying habits/interests.

It can make money but I personally think a more professional approach is to go and ask companies directly if they would like text link ads or banner ads on your site.

I sell one text link ad to a company for $200.00 per year, not much but if you can get a few and get rotating banners as well then it can earn some nice residual income.

Is your site ecommerce based or is it like a kids portal site? Another way to make some money is to sign up to affiliate schemes (visit www.clixgalore.co.uk they have loads). This way you get paid a commission on referals, sales or sign-ups generated from carrying the ad on your site

It can make some occasional cash but you won't start making a decent income until you start getting hundreds of thousands of visitors per month (90% of the time).
