Can anyone advise me of payment gateways where i can accept online payments through my website where i do not need a business bank account. I need the whole merchant account. Is that what worldpay offer? Could i use Neteller?

Please name as many as possible that allow me to use them without a business bank account.

Hi there
I set up Payment gateways all day and i get emails and phone calls every day about the same kind of thing.

An excellent one is Nochex as you dont need a bank account and it costs very little. Also most systems such as www.Virtuemart.com (http://www.Virtuemart.com) has it defaulted as a set up.

I am in the middle of setting up a website called
http://www.paymentgatewaydirectory.com/
which was supposed to be finished over xmas, but there is still a few problems, so im not releasing it yet.

But on here you can compare providers against each other and also search them all against each other in order of price with samples of turnover and transaction charges.

Ill drop loads of message on here dont worry when its live, but it maybe a few weeks yet, as the maths to make the search system is incredibly difficult.

Oh also, paypal is riddled with security issues, and fraud is very common.

This isnt because they have a poor system, in fact far from it. But the spam emails that most of us receive

Sent by Paypal
"Our system has had a crash and you need to reinput all your info again so we can keep your details correct"

The site it links to will look like Paypal, and appear but its not, its a website designed just to collect data, and as you type in your username and password it keeps it and criminals will use it to login to your account and either buy products with it, or empty it.

So it doesnt matter how good the security on the site is, if the user gives over the access info, then they just walk through all the security.

So why is paypal worse than others?

The spammers know that more people have a paypal account than any others, so there is more chance of somebody receiving this email and having a paypal account than any other account.

Think about it, you send out 8,000,000 emails, you get 1:100,000 falling for it, you have access to 80 accounts to empty every day, thats HUGE amounts of money.

Just a hint, but im not saying paypal are bad, just be careful.
