I want to include "Why choose us?" in our FAQ's

Does "Because we care about our reputation! This means that every booking....blah blah" sound arrogant?

Hi Hayles - IMHO no not at all - your competitors won't be offering to tell them for you ;)

lol - make sure you answer the primary questions people visit a website with.. Do they have what I need and is it the best value I can get for my money!

I detest FAQs which are simply an excuse for more sales patter. They should be for answering genuinely frequent queries.

Who would honestly phone you up and ask this question frequently?

The rest of your website should answer this question rendering it's inclusion on a FAQ page redundant.

Doh!

In my defence, this is the only question with sales patter as such.

And I'd just finished the answer...

"Because we care about our reputation! This means we approach every booking with the aim of leaving you so delighted with our service that you’ll recommend us to others and enhance our reputation even further."

But, reading back it's totally wrong as it's all we, we, we...

I'm giving up and going for a coffee :-(

Hayles,

I don't think it sounds arrogant. Some things you just have to say straight out. If you're genuine people will believe it and it will boost their confidence in you. Some of that belief will come from the tone of the rest of your website content.

When I read it, I liked the sound of it - and I trust my gut instinct.

Do you mind if I tinker with it a little?

"Because our reputation depends on your satisfaction! We do everything possible to ensure you'll be delighted with our service and recommend us to others."

Nice one, Steve. More succinct and therefore easier to digest.

Hi Hayles.
As the king of arrogance I say use the one Steve drafted. Sometimes we have to blow our own trumpet (with the exception of Silly Jokes:-)) to get our message across.
Cheers, Nigel

I don't think it sounds arrogant at all; however, I'd consider using it in a different page than FAQ's. Perhaps at the top of your services page?

Or on your home page.

Hi Hayles,

Just to throw a spanner in the works - people nowadays expect high value and good service if they spend money on a product or service.

It might not be appropriate to put this in FAQ. It maybe more effective to have testimonials from your current client/customers. Then it is more believeable and doesn't come across as you being arrogant or too sales based.

well here's my two penn'orth (and my first ever post!).

as others have said, don't include this in the FAQs. leave that page for genuine questions/queries. you'll only risk irritating potential customers otherwise.

secondly, why use a question at all when you could simply say "CHOOSE US BECAUSE ..."? (or words to that effect!).

finally, fear of arrogance shouldn't even enter your head. plainly stating and illustrating what's so good about what you have to offer is surely just good business sense. if you still feel a bit coy about blowing your own trumpet then ask someone else to write the copy. getting testimonials from happy customers should do the trick too.

good luck!!

Personally I don't think the question is at all arrogant, afterall, that is exactly what they will be asking themselves.

And whilst I agree with Steve's sentiments, I would not start the sentence with "because our reputation"

"Because our reputation depends on your satisfaction! We do everything possible to ensure you'll be delighted with our service and recommend us to others."

But going with Steve, I would turn it around to say:

"Your satisfaction is vital, as it is the basis of our reputation. Your delight with our service is paramount because if you are delighted with the service you will recommend us to others"

or something along these lines. I would just start the sentence with You and not we.

I don't think the original text sounds arrogant at all.

I also think FAQs can be a useful addition to a website... as long as they're genuinely useful and answer the questions that people will probably not find anywhere else on the site.

Good luck with it all...
