Hi all, Suz here wondering if anyone out there could help with some advertising/ sponsorship for the Shotton Steel under 15's team. My boys have just joined and play prop, the team is seriously under funded and I have taken it upon myself to try and get some help with funding and press coverage. I would like if possible to supply the boys with an away shirt, this gives any interested company the perfect advertising medium, I am also looking for banner type advertising and am considering a quarterly Deeside Area Sport's booklet that can be distributed to the local population, which would include local company advertising. I would point out that the seniors The Steelmen are having a very successful season and you could be sponsoring or helping the next "George North".
Any help or advise or support would be gratefully received.
Thanks Suz:D

Hi Suz,

seriously ambitious plans there, but my advice would be to scale back and think differently.

by far the easiest is to physically approach local businesses and get smaller amounts for less. i.e. set up something where you can get deals ranging from £25 to £300 say
£25
£50
£100
£150
£300

Why not get a sublimated kit printed as that then can have s many adverts on it as you want. You are looking at an absolute maximum of £1200 for a full kit including socks n shorts (shorts can also be printed using sublimation.

I am fairly involved with rugby down South (and when George north played my team, George skippered (from centre), and he was a freak then 2 years ago ) :D

Feel free to drop me a private message and I will try to help you with things :)

Cheers

Sorry, but if somebody tapped me for money for an "away shirt" for an U15 team, I think that I'd choke on my coffee! If it's seriously underfunded surely there are more important things that away shirts.

You also need to be reaslistic and realise that the advertising value of sponsoring a junior rugby shirt is likely to be close to zero. Businesses that do sponsor you will do it as a contribution to the local community and not for the advertising value.

(In case you think that I'm just a grumpy old git (which is actually the case) I should explain that I do support local rugby teams, and have done for a few years)

Didn't notice the 'away shirt' thing. I am not sure how you stand, but normally the kit sponsors are expecting home and away coverage, as there is normally a single kit for U15's.

Thanks for feedback, good to get a quick response from you. glad I found this site. Your advise / suggestion's warmly received.
I am currently downsizing my expectation's and starting small, the away kit is not going to be my number one priority, I have decided in the short term to concentrate on publicity. Although match summaries will be passed over to the guy's.
I am looking into all suggestion's and I am quite open to any other suggestion's from member's of this site.
cheers Suz
