3gb?! Thats pretty huge considering the entire Windows XP installation fits on an 800mb CD.
It makes you wonder what features and additions vista has to require so much more space.

2 versions of the beta- just read how many final releases there will be!
I've been using it a while - since early beta and it does indeed take drive space, I iinstalled it on a few, on my main pc I also installed it on a 20 gig partition, came to upgrade from beta2 to RC1 and didnt have enough disk space! I only had windows and office installed!

The only problem is there seems to be a download fee!

I'm running Vista RC1 with Office 2007 B2TR. On my box it takes just over 7GB, and apart from hiccups with the media player (11), seems to be good. The Mac like GUI takes the space I think.

The beta releases use more space a they produce debugging information.
The RC1 should be better, and the RTM release will be compiled for running without the Debug, so it should eat alot less hard drive space.

How stable are people finding it in terms of crashes and supporting existing hardware?
