Does any other person in Northern Ireland have a problem with english advertising companies cold calling offering advertising space in charity or police related booklets? I took one out in february this year since then I have been plaqued with calls offering them, telling me I had agreed to them threatening blacklisting, debt collectors, legal action etc unless I pay. Stupidly I have felt threatened enough to pay as a good credit rating is essential for me. (£1965) Turns out they are all common scams and I've lost all that money. then on Saturday cancelled all cards for my accounts so no more money could come out of them but not soon enough as one of them returned to my account took another £340.86 even though I had already paid their invoice exactly one month previously and didn't owe anything. On the same day another company which is somehow linked to the above one according to my bank lifted an additional £249. Now my bank says because of the invoice a month ago, the two this month which were unauthorised have to be disputed to get the money back. I'm in bother if thats the case cos the addresses are false as are the phone numbers so I fail to see how it's going to be disputed. Does anyone have any experience of this or any idea of how to get this money back?
