Hi All,

Sorry if I sound rather thick - I am new to all this website malarky, being a Drama Teacher!

I wondered if there was any way that I can offer my new customers a discount? I have a small budget and plan to get a proper shopping cart with more flexability when I make more money, but at the mo I'm stuck with easyshopmaker pro, which uses paypal as payment.

I know that you can type in a promotion code if you buy from ebay to get free postage etc. can I set something similar up to enable a discount at checkout?

I've looked on the website at the merchant tools, but I'm still non the wiser!

Thanks in advance, it's appreciated,

Hi Helena,
It may be far simpler to price the items with the discount advised, i.e. was £24.99 now £21.99. This will save any checkout dramas and possible dramas with PayPal, who, on experience, are reluctant to resolve any problems.
Cheers, Nigel

Some ecommerce website (http://www.digitalracks.com/company/content/websites/Viewsite.aspx?name=advstore)s scripts have two pricing options:

A) RRP - Recommended Retail Price
B) Our Price

May be useful!

Do you have any programming knowledge? because, you could always implement the feature yourself, but may get abit complicated.

What you could do is use PayPal to do a partial refund, but could confuse the customer. Or you could have a different file for ebay purchases, which gives the discount, and the original file if its not from an ebay customer.

Theres no way to do it without using some sort of cart, the only way it can be done is simply by setting up "Buy it now" buttons specific to each offer. :)
