I made a thread a while back in May asking for advice and I've just came back recently for more help. Upon looking around I'll probably try to visit here regularly and offer any advice or information (which might sound funny considering what I'm about to say).

I'm from the North East and I'm 16 years of age. I've had an entrepreneurial mind since I was about 10 years old thinking up money making schemes. None of them ever ended up working but I learnt why on a very basic level and it has helped. I also had an Internet Radio station a while back. I borrowed £400 from a friend to pay for Marketing and other upgrades since I had a recruitment consultancy which was interested in buying advertising for £400 a month.

Everything was going smoothly until it turned out the partner in the company wanting to advertise had a drug addiction because of the overwhelming amount of stress he was going through. The other person in the partnership took him to court for whatever reason and the company shut down. The £400 went to no use but I learnt some very important lessons.

Now I'm heading into college next week for A-levels in Business, Computing, Accounting and Graphics to help me along. Whilst I'm studying in those subjects I'm going to start developing a new product idea I have. I'll have to solve the problem of the Patent, try and find some funding and make 100 or so samples myself (a nightmare) and find out if they sell and what feedback I'll get. Those are my main goals up to this point. No doubt I'll be back on here more in the future for advice and/or seeking services.

So that's me :)

Scott.

Hi... welcome to the forum... good luck with your idea and also your A-levels :)

In business, no matter what age you are there are always pitfalls and obsticles along the way which you overcome. Think about things logically, open a few doors, making sure that you have every choice available to you, and always have a backup plan.

Good for you. Almost everyone starting their A-levels is very wet behind the ears (I certainly was). You have very valuable experience under your belt, so I have no doubt you'll do really well. It's tough to lose money at any time, but you've obviously learned from your experience.

haha if only I was in your position I would have studied business!

Now I'm earning an income part time I'm having to chase up everything I should have done at the begining like a simple book keeping course..

Where abouts in the North East are you? I'm living near Consett

Good Luck though!

I live in South Shields, 8 or so miles from Newcastle. I also noticed theres at least a couple of members here from the North East which is quite a coincidence.
