We too have just posted our Global Enterprise Week offer which can be checked out here (http://www.gew.org.uk/events/free_franchise_to_be_given_to_someone_that_wants_t o_start_their_own_business).

Quick summary is that we are giving away a complete free franchise to someone that wants to start their own business but has found it difficult for various reasons. We will launch the winner into business at the Earls Court Business Startup Show at Earls Court on 17th November. And they'll receive ongoing support from both ourselves (as a normal part of the franchise package) and also from www.CheapAccounting.co.uk to help keep them all on the right track. (If you know anyone who would like to be considered - tell them to apply here; www.kidsbeehappy.com )

One of our current franchisees is a 21 girl from Hawick. Hawick if you don't know is one of those towns in the Scottish Borders which is pretty much un-commutable to any of the larger cities where there are jobs. It is/was a mill town, but over the past few years the mills have moved to the far east (or closed completely) with the result that youth unemployment has increased 400% during the last four years.

I am a huge fan of Enterprise Week, and I think that organisations such as this that introduce to people that concept that anyone can do it, and that starting your own business is something that is accessible and possible for all, are vital for the future of business and the economy in general.

I look forward to hearing what other projects people have planned.
