Hi folks,
Recently I been searching one Seo forum for more information about how to get better Google rankings and find out an interesting fact. It was written that it is rather difficult for new sites to get good rankings at Google, cause Google is banning these sites for some time to make sure these are not trash sites.
So have you heard about it and maybe you know how long does this banning continues?
Thanks,
Donatas

It's true, not really a "ban" though, more a downgrading. Do a search for Google and SandBox
It lasts anywhere from 6 to 12 months - little can be done about it, other than perhaps buying an established domain and using that for your site, but this adds further complications.

Worth maybe pointing out that the sandbox is based on keywords rather than the website itself. Also it's really there for high competing keywords - rather than small local searches. If your keyword is 'mobile phones' then you are going to be 'sandboxed'.....
...if on the other hand it's 'Craft Shop (Name of Town)' you probably won't be.
Also it's the popularity of the keyword in question rather than the number of results displayed by Google. For instance a site I built is number 1 in under two weeks for the keyword 'Competitions Today' which happens to be the name of the website.
Now although there are 31million other sites also shown for this phrase it is not a popular keyword and so resides in top spot.
So a site is sandboxed on keywords rather than the website itself. So to begin with its worth starting for lower competing but achieveable keywords - and then once established move over to higher competing phrases.
(My theory anyway) :)
