Hi All,

I am thinking of starting a TV Programme fan site under the name of something like NameOfTheprogrammeFanClub.com. The aim of the site is just to make some pocket money through google ads and an Amazon affiliate programme. Its never going to be a full time money earner.

Does anyone see any legal problems with doing this? Could the makers of the programme aks me to take the site down if they dont like the site? Could they get funny about the name of the programme being in the domain name? There is no official fan club and it will be made clear that its an un-official fan club.

I have approached the makers of the programme with reference to using images and logos. So hopefully I have that side of things covered.

Thanks

You will need a licence (or permission in writing) from the TV producers who will own any IP rights

Regardless I wouldn't advertise your anticipated domain name here... its been known for other users to poach them.

Thanks all. I am still waiting for a response from the producers, but so far I have had no response.
