A company I'm working with pay their employees at the end of the month but have to calculate any SSP perhaps a week to 10 days before the month end. They enter the SSP dates up to the calculation date as they don't know if the employee will still be sick after that. However, after the payroll has been run we can't find out how to enter SSP dates and get Quickbooks to calculate the SSP that occurred in the previous month when the next months payroll is processed.
Eg. Payroll calculated 21st July, paid 31st July. SSP dates entered and calculated to 21st July but employee sick until 25th July. When Aug payroll is run the dates 22nd - 25th need to be entered but Quickbooks doesn't seem to calculate the SSP as it falls in an earlier period. If we enter a manually calculated figure will it be included in the yearend P35? Any suggestions!
