Hi All

Company owned car, registered keeper is MD, insurance policy paid for. With two separate extras, Guarantee hire car plus and admin fee, both on separate bills.

1) As the insurance premium tax has already been paid, Is there VAT.
I have assumed No but confermation on this point would be nice.

2) Is the price of the guarantee higher car, Zero Rated or Exempt, Or simply Outside the Scope

3) Is the price of the Admin Fee, Zero Rated or Exempt, Or simply Outside the Scope

Or am I simply inept and its none of these?
Thanks for any help.

As far as I am aware car insurance doesn't carry VAT. Other items outside of the insurance may be classed as services which would have a VAT element if the provider is VAT registered but, the invoice should detail if the charges include a VAT element. If items are billed seperately then they should be accounted for seperately as you will presumably wish to allocate the expenditures according to their purpose.
