My advice would be don't. I spent 10 years in the night club business in the 1970s. The vast majority of customers are fine just out for a good time but there are too many who cannot hold their drink and understand you don't see these people till after they have tanked up in a pub till chucking out time.... Good luck...........

That's no reason not to get involved that is what bouncers are for.

To me it looks like there is a fortune to be made from night clubs. I used to frequent clubs in walsall and sutton coldfield and the prices they charge for a drink. 6 quid for a vodka redbull... If you have the start up funds and the location i can't see how people would fail to spin a really good wage.

There is not enough profit on drinks alone, you would need to have a decent restaurant too. My experience of door staff is with the best will in the world they will never weed out all of whom who cannot hold their drink..

this is not a growing industry at the moment - all the club owners I know have been having a hard time and struggle to get the numbers in that they used to. Im not saying it can't be done but I think you really need something new and unique to get the punters in the door and if you can I'd target the students of course!

My best advice here is to have your hair like Peter Stringfellow. It is the only sure-fire, tried-and-tested way to get yourself up there with the cash AND the LADIES.

Maybe an easier way to test the water would be promoting a weekday night with just a take on the door revenues, if you could get a successful and popular event going you could take it further to a weekend spot and start making some money out of it.

Your failure or sucess would be based on getting punters through the door and spending money.

Which is why all successful nightclubs have a restaurant attached?

A major oversight in the nightclub industry is assuming that if you build it they will come. Often nightclub owners spend heavily on decor and leave nothing.f bar/night club ownership sounds exciting, it is. And this excitement draws people of all ages, walks of life, and financial conditions. Many nightclub businesses fail because their owners simply thought that a nightclub would be a cool business to earn lots of money.

Getting people to come back week after week without getting bored is your major obstacle, that's why nightclubs re-name themselves every few years.

You need big money to do it properly.
