I have finally moved into an office. After carefully considering renting or buying a shop I decided that in the interim I would just rent some office space.
I am paying £120 a month for a 13ft x 13ft room with secure mailbox and utilities included. The office has telephone connections but I am only going to use the broadband connection as I have a seperate line at home for the business and I can't be bothered with all the messing getting the line taken out and then getting a new one put in the office etc etc as I will not be in there that much.
I am going to rack out one side of the room to store the toys etc and have a desk and admin area on the other side.

Congrats on the new office, I hope you've got windows and air-con! : )

Cheers Duane.
Unfortunately there is no air con but I have bought a big stand up fan which is great and there are 2 nice windows which overlook ......the road ;-)

One advantage of the office is that I can deal with a couple of suppliers now who would not deal with me before as my address was a domestic address.

I've got one of those big stand up fans. It just blows around the hot ai though : /

Can't open our windows becuase the idiots that painted them years ago before we got here decided to seal them up. I recently found out the idiot in question was actually my father-in-law!

New double-glazing, that can be opened, will be in by September when it all cools down though.

So are you spending much time in the new office? Or only when you need to? It's nice to have the seperation between home and work

At the moment it will only be when I need to. I am still working 35hrs a week on consultancy to the local council as this is my bread and butter wage until I can develop the business enought to chuck in the architecture.

It is better having all the business stuff away from home though. It ws all starting to take over and with 4 kids running around trying to get things done ws becoming a nightmare.
