I am not sure what is the difference and uses of forwarding, pointing and redirection.
Basically what I want to do is have another domain name as the address for a certain part of my website.
Eg maindomainname.com/categoryone can be found by using the url seconddomain-name.com
Is that possible and what how would I do it?
Many thanks

All 3 terms can be used for exactly what you are requesting and bits of mail too.
Forwarding is generally the term used for mail, so you can forward me@new.domain to me@old.domain.
It is very possible, you can buy another domain from a reseller, and if they have a control panel, you can set the forwarding/redirection/pointing to
www.yourmaindomain.com/newsection
Some hosts offer more sophisticated options, framed redirection, redirection to single pages, etc.
It's quite straightforward to set-up.
If the host also supports mail forwarding you can have mail sent to the new domain forwarded to your current mailbox.
If you get stuck I can do it for you at a fee, would love to for free, but I don't have enough hours in the day! But you can just do it yourself online if you aren't techno-phobic!

Thanks for letting me know!
I had a look on my CP and it looks straightforward but I just didn't know if that is what the pointing and redirecting was for lol
Thanks again you have been very helpful. I understand about the fee, fair enough too, however I think I will be able to do it. I'll let you know if not!

No problem, you shouldn't have a problem using a CP, should be dead easy!
