Hello!

I am looking at setting up a magazine to be delivered free in Fenland (Cambs).
The first thing I am trying to find, is a name. At the moment, Fenland Focus is the only decent thing I can think of.

1) What do you think of "Fenland Focus"
2) What other names do you think are good/better?

Thanks

'Fenland Focus' seems good but what apart from the Fens would you 'focus' on?

Plus there are areas such as Ramsey that are in the Fens but classed as Huntingdonshire.
good luck with it and may I ask what the mag will be about?

Hi,

I quite like the "Fenland Focus" - it's easy to remember!
Also, what you could think of is to create something from those words like "FenlandUS"...

!!!! I would recommend that you buy the domain name "Fenland Focus" as soon as possible !!!! before someone who is just buying them to sell them for profit would buy it!

If you need any help regarding to this or hosting, development, design etc, feel free to contact us!
Regards

Fenland Focus just sounds so dull!

Chaz asks the key question, which you might not want to answer, what is it about? Who are your targets or is it to go to everyletterbox?

Sorry Guys,
I posted the original thread, new account now though.

In response to what people have said:

1) Focus is on Community Life, local events and Community Groups. There will also be features on local businesses and other local bits when appropriate, days out etc. Alongside this there is going to be a few pages on motoring, cooking, music, films etc.

2) It will be delivered free through the letterbox to homes within the Fenland District. Unfortunately Ramsey doesn't come under that, since like you said it is part of Huntingdonshire - though it could expand into that area slightly since Ramsey is a key town locally.

It's all going ahead well so far, and I am looking at releasing it in January!

It's one of the problems I faced, where do I cut off Fenland? I figured that I would more class Ramsey Mereside, Pondersbridge etc as villages connected to Ramsey, which isn't part of Fenland.

It's something I will revisit after a couple of issues.

This is a little off topic but I played with the idea of producing a free quarterly magazine only a month or two ago and placed an ad on people per hour for freelancers. I had 95 "bids" ranging from around £40 onwards per 1000 words for topics including general interest, sport, gadget reviews, tv & film reviews, games reviews, fashion ect...

If you needed any freelancers I would hapily pass on my login details for people per hour so you can have a look at them.
