Hi guys,

We are just setting ourselves up to sell online. One of the hurdles (being located in NI) is the shipping. We obviously are starting from scratch so have no volume to speak of yet. What do others do about shipping? I am finding that the quotes I get are typically £20 for a 10kg mid size package... on a 2 or 3 day service. That is a fortune and no customer will be willing to pay that. So what other options are there?

Many thanks

Adam

Have you looked at Royal Mail prices?

Where are you shipping to?

I did have a look at RM but we are quickly talking £15-20.

I am looking just to send to the mainland UK.

An option may be to hold stock at a warehouse in England and then despatch from there.

Unfortunately, having a warehouse on the mainland requires that we have a good idea of necessary stock, it requires premises and it requires additional personnel. So not appropriate for a small company making a move into a new areas.
