I've looked through - and the last dedicated thread for North Wales went defunct at the tail end of a non-existent Xmas do...
So for those in the North - are you open for business?
(No ads please - just a "YES INDEEDY!" will do!)
Let me hear you say - YEAH!:)

The South is where it's at, more customers = more profit to be made, simples :)

Well, I am sure you have a point, but with the internet we can be everywhere can't we :D and less people = less stress

You're right. Then you have that concrete-strewn attachment in the south. ;)

This doesn't just apply to Wales, but anywhere in the country if you are looking mainly locally. There will always be more potential customers in higher areas of population.

hmmm... now you come to mention it, we get very few customers from Wales - much less than you would expect for it's size. By comparisson we get lots of orders from Scotland. It's like businesses just don't exist over there. :|

That is almost true. The north of Wales a very odd place to try and do business.
The economy is heavily reliant on the public sector and low paid retail and tourism type jobs. The infrastructure is pants - crumbling overpriced offices and business units, poor or no phone reception in many parts and terrible transport links to anywhere if you discount the A55 and M4.
I'd often considered relocating my business closer to the M6.

Hi Mrs PWN
I have just launched a local online estate agents this week so busy marketing, flyering etc. and getting my name out there. Have figured on 6-9 months before I start getting any consistant trade though as customers like to stick with what they know. We are a bit different from the local traditional high street agents as we offer low fixed fee pricing. How long have you been in business?

Hi Flower
Not sure what part of North Wales you are in but having worked in GP practice's etc I have used florists a lot for staff off sick, retirement, birthdays etc. so it might be worth writing to Practice Managers of GP surgeries, dentists etc. and maybe larger companies, solicitors etc. giving them a special deal on bouquets

I'm here too, but business-wise my presence is purely virtual. I may live here but all my sales are usually from England and Scotland.:) PS If you like pound-shops, we have them aplenty!

Hi, 5 miles outside the Metropolis of Caernarfon, not so far from yourself!
If you google Munchkipumpkin you will find the virtual me :) I see we are pitching to a similar market. I teach part-time to pay the bills and am on a steep learning curve with selling online since April 2010. I've learned a lot because I've had to do it all myself as I couldn't afford to pay anyone else to do it for me :D. I have also done some SEO copywriting on the side to earn a crust which is coming in handy for my own site now I know a bit about it.
