Dave,
we offer an advertising opportunity for valeters. We put them infront of our advertisers, both private and trade, while they are signing up to advertise, and highly recommend that the car advertisers uses the valeter for preparing the car for sale.
We use post code search technology to match the car advertiser with their closest valeter.

This has been working well over the last few months, and we have had some great feedback. We have also got some very large valeters/franchises on board.

More details are here: http://www.justcarsonline.co.uk/ValeterReg.aspx
Or PM me the details, and I can give them a call.

print up some eycatching leaflets (A5) and have him walk about the streets and car parks - particularly at stations and look for the dirty cars. ( the leaflet could be specifically worded for people with dirty cars.

Do a deal with a station car park and clean their cars whilst they are at work.
Need to plan how to get and return keys? Pick up service?

We have a local team based in our homebase carpark.

Any good?

A great place to do car valeting is at golf courses. Car owners have to leave their cars parked there anyway, for about 5 hours, so it's no skin off their nose and avoids the hassle of having to drive somewhere.

I've seen valeting services at quite a few golf courses here in France. Could be worth contacting a few courses to see if they'd be up for it. Also, the cost of greenfees/membership of the courses would give you an excellent idea of the type of client profile.

As a matter of interest, is PNS Valeting the name of the company? If so, it's rather unfortunate.

Let me explain by way of anecdote. Before the advent of cellphones, there was a service in the telephone industry called Personal Number Service, known to most people as PNS. About ten years ago, I attended a big conference in France where a vendor spent 20 minutes in front of a large audience boasting about his PNS. At one point, he drew the comparison between his version of the service and that of a competitor. The poor guy couldn't understand why the audience began laughing when he said something like "My P-N-S is better than his. I'm very proud of my P-N-S. I make good use of its features, and it's been very successful". After that, no one took the name of the service seriously.

Maybe I'm making a big deal unnecessarily out of a name, but I've seen first-hand how unfortunate connotations can undermine a company's reputation. That was the reason for my comment.

Thank you for this it certainly has opened our eyes and we will look at a rebranding in the future that may incorporate a nem change that is relevant to what we are doing but at the moment it seems to be ok here in the UK anyway.

Once again thanks for your comments its nice to have someone so blunt and straight forward instead of beating around the bush so to speak

Thanks for taking my comments so graciously. I always hesitate about stating something negative, but I could foresee a potential problem here.

Good luck with the advertising program.
