Hi

I have a company that has been dormant since it was formed in may last year.

I have returned the annual return and DCA to companies house; however the good ole HMCE have sent a corporation tax return form with to me,

Normally a CT600 would be filed for an active company.

Is this same form used for reporting dormant companies?

Do i have to submit dormant company accounts to the HMRC? and do these accounts need to be signed off by a qualified accountant?

thanks

Rich

Did you send in a CT41G telling the Revenue you were intending to trade? If so they’ll have sent you a notice to deliver based on the info you gave them. In such a case even if the company was dormant you’ll still have to submit a return but with zeros in the relevant boxes.

You can do this yourself without the help of an accountant.
