Anyone used any of these ?

Any recommendations ?

Yes I know its a skill that should be developed but for £25 quid or so, is it worth a punt ?

Suggestions welcome

thanks

Dictionary.com does not have a meaning for the word 'credition' so I'll take a punt and guess you mean creation :)

Yes we tried some a couple of years back - they churned out 50 or so headlines, a couple of which were good by typical US marketeer sales letter headline standards.

I can't remember the one we used.

No spend the £25 on a good copywriting book! Like anything the more you practice the better you get, good direct response marketers suggest coming up with 100 headlines to pick 5/6 good ones. A starting point however is that there are 79 proven to be effective keywords that can form the basis of a good headline.

About 20 years ago, I heard that someone had written a computer program that wrote "Bruce Springsteen" songs.

I remember thinking that, not only would I love to hear those songs, I would have paid good money just to read the code of the program.

Since then, I've thought about writing a program that does country songs. he algorithm would be something like:

if x='lonesome' then y = 'my wife done left me'.

That program would be quite difficult to design.

On the other hand, the only headline program I know works quite simply. It's the program the Yellow Pages seems to use which creates a choice of 2 headlines.

There are 2 input variables:

your product
your business name

And the headlines it produces are:

1: '(Your business name)'
2: 'Number 1 for (your product)'

Then, when neither of those headlines pulls, they tell you the problem is that you need a bigger ad (with colour).

Ker-ching!!

The software we had used around 15 - 20 variables including benefits, time scales etc etc

If you've got £25 and no time then it might be worthwhile - else you're beter off lesrning how to write headlines rather than relying on a script.

This guy nows a bit and if you watch his video you'll get the gist of headline formation: http://www.thecopydoctor.com/

Its really sad when you buy the Sunday Telegraph and the first thing I read is all the flyers that fall out...

Mind you (Matrixx) - its a credition where I come from ;-)

Hi there,

I think the software you are thinking of is "headline creator pro"

I used to sell it online, if you want a copy, let me know, FREE of course.

You simply put the details in and it churns out 100 headlines, you just pick and choose.

To be honest, it is very americanified, But hey its yours or anyones for free.

I'll take a copy, for sure!

I'm very curious about this.

If it's just a file, please email a copy to me at stevedgibson@aol.com.

Cheers

Steve

PS For the insatiably curious, the 'D' in my email address is for 'David'.
