Can anyone recommend a reliable courier company?
Who do you use?
Who is the best value?
Hi Mark
Try www.interparcel.com - it allows you to choose from a range, while also saving you money than if you went direct. We use this site regularly and so far, the only complaint was that they arrived to pick up the parcels and hour before they said they would - was only a complaint because I didn't have all the parcels ready for them, but they waited and it was all fine

Mark,
Your rate will depend very much on your volume and whether your parcels will fit into their CityPack bags.
We use CityLink and generally have few problems. A lot of the couriers struggle with domestic deliveries but CityLink seem to manage better than most.
Alison
I also vouch for interparcel. I use them regularly and have never had a problem.

Interparcel are good for ad-hoc stuff but I expect you are looking for an account Mark?
We use DHL and although we have had some minor issues with invoicing the service has been fantastic. That said, our account is based on a minimum weight of up to 10kg so I don't think this would be suitable for you with 2kg shipments. Maybe give them a phone and see what they can do. I definitely recommend them service wise.

We use City Link, ANC and good old ParcelForce for our next day deliveries.
Cant say that any of them have been perfect though. All depends on the branch that they go to. But City Link have had the best customer service so far and when there has been a problem they have tried to sort it out there and then. ANC seem to pass you from pillar to post first.
We use ParcelForce for deliveries up to 5kg and surprisingly they have been the most relaible so far !

As above most importnt thng si whether you can squeeze stuff into the CityPack then you'll get to around £4.50-£5 if you do ltos of deliveries each day.
You can also try fastway (http://www.fastwaycouriers.co.uk/) for cheaper prices but you have to buy in lots of 20 in advance.

We now use APC couriers (Tel 01709 369369 option 2) can't remember the web address!
They too have mailpack and courier packs - basically if it fits into a 1kg mailpack its 1kg - even if its not and the same for the 5kg - we have some items that whilst they fit easily into the 5kg weigh 7kg etc but they don't complain!
Costs us £4.00+VAT for mailpack and £5.00 for Courier pack - box rate is up to 20kg £9.50 + VAT - postcode restrictions do apply for highland areas etc, but we do everything on line with their free software, print barcoded labels using their labels, pack things up using their bags - we haven't had a problem with them at all and our customers frankly are delighted with the service - as are we!
Customer services are quick and freindly, IT supoort is also excellent, so no complaints from us.
You must be sending out a minimum of 10 parcels a week so thats not too much and they will take account of seasonal slow down's as long as you give them advance notice of your potentially quiet times,,,,
