Black Butterfly is a new and exciting accessories label that has emerged from reinterpreting traditional African jewellery into subtle, chic pieces; giving it a fresh and unique edge. Every piece of Black Butterfly jewellery is handmade to order and only available in limited edition collections – making them highly sought after by the discerning fashionista.
The simple delicate shapes infusing African silhouettes with vibrant colours create uniquely fresh signature pieces which make up the black butterfly collection. Chief Designer, Tapiwa’s speciality is creating one-offs for those who really want to be individual and stylish. About Tapiwa - I am a trained Graphic Designer and have pursed Graphic Design as a career for the last 10 years. I have always had a passion for accessories; particularly jewellery and a year ago started experimenting with making my own jewellery. This has lead to me starting up my own jewellery label Black Butterfly Design. I hand make all my jewellery pieces, which are only available in limited edition collections, but enjoy the challenge of creating bespoke pieces. I am inspired by the forms and patterns found in nature and really love bright colour, both of which are reflected in the pieces I create, resulting in some delicate and colourful creations. Having recently set up in business I am now working on getting my label known.
