Will theatre remain in high spirts after investigation?
Ghost Explorers. com search for spooky performers after the lights and stage curtain have come down.
The Darlington Civic Theatre has been a major part of Darlington’s entertainment scene for over 100 years. Originally as the Hippodrome, it has played host to an assortment of shows such as classic operatic performances, ballet to headlining major theatre shows.
Throughout its glorious history, the theatre has attracted the biggest names and performers from around the world such as the famous Russian ballet dancer Anna Pavlova. But have all these stars of yester-year moved on?
Tom Miller from Ghost Explorers. com explained “Theatres were traditionally the centre of the entertainment world long before television and the radio became popular alternatives. It attracted a whole host of people from the very privileged to the lowest of the classes, a real mix of people”.
“Many will have laughed, cried, been shocked and scared; this theatre may well have given a lasting impression on some, so much so that they may never have left”.
Peter Tate the Theatres manager said, “There have been some strange unexplained happenings within the building, there have been sightings of a gentleman dressed in formal evening wear which has been attributed to a former manager of the theatre Signor Rino Pepi”.
Others have seen a paranormal dog, also thought to have some connection to Signor Pepi; whilst many of the visiting companies have seen the mysterious figure of a woman appear in the wings of the stage, but we don’t know who she is.”
Unexplained events have taken place in other parts of the theatre too, Peter added “Part of the dressing room arrangement we have today was added fairly recently. Previously that was a takeaway restaurant with a living area above that. And strange lights have been witnessed and a figure of a woman has been seen on a number of occasions, again we don’t know who this is?”
Peter Kiernan also of Ghost Explorers. com added, “We are keen to prove the existence of Ghosts ideally with physical proof such as an image captured on film. To achieve this we do rely heavily on a large amount of electronic and digital recording equipment”.
“We also encourage our fellow Ghost Explorers to bring along there own equipment and encourage everyone to participate in a host of paranormal experiments. We believe it is important to respect all aspects of the supernatural world, so as with other investigations carried out by the team, we invite the highly respected and experienced spiritualist medium Val Pattison, who has worked all over the world as well as making many appearances on local radio to help with our investigation”.
Tom continued, “As strange activity has been reported throughout the building, not in one isolated place, this makes it more fascinating. This activity is happening currently and on a regular basis – this really does look like a fascinating place to investigate.
