You might want to try www.4networking.biz - they have groups across the UK and quite a few up here.

We network regularly by having networking nights in Glasgow. We book a venue once a week and ask our business associates to come along and meet us and each other. We are now planning a Big Night in Glasgow on 30 April and are hiring a business guru, Chris Billington Hughes of the Results Corporation to give us all a power speech. Along with a dinner, entertainment and dancing plus lots of opportunity for people to network we should have a good night.

I'm near Stirling. Just in the process of moving hosting site and revamping/rebuilding the website too!

You are very welcome to come along, there will be an arrangement with the hotel if people have to stay overnight. Our IT experts will also be there. Good luck with your website.

Thanks for the invite.

Hi darkmoon,
What is your business and when have you started?

Aha well
Personally I started my business in 2009 retail esoteric goods online. It was a sudden impulse when I started seeing a drop in my husbands business. Not very well planned and although fairly profitable did not give itself much scope for expansion etc.
2 Years on I have taken a step back and done some proper planning and am 'good to go'. I've also expanded to take on some of my husbands gardening contracts now he's gone and got a proper job until the economy improves.
Which will help bolster the original business until it can really stand on its own 2 feet.
Yourself??

4networking have networking breakfast meets in Stirling and Alloa. I think it's £10 to book your place with them. One of their representative contacted me a while ago about it.
To be honest I don't get much time to get out there and network at the moment.
I'm a freelance graphic designer near Stirling by the way. :)

We don't charge for our networking nights, we provide the food and all we ask is that anyone who wants a drink buys it themselves. We always have a good turnout and it's proving to be a big success.

I was looking for something in East Lothian... So if anyone knows any?
I've tried a few now in Edinburgh and have yet to secure any business from them, I think that it might come soon enough.

I go to Business Banter: it's cheap and cheerful! Every Tuesday morning between 8.30 and 10.00 at Caffe Nero on Lothian Road in Edinburgh. It would be nice to see some new faces!

Rick,
You could always try Find Networking Events. Unfortunately, the site won't let me post the URL :|

Hi Maureen
I did try but all I can find is the chamber of commerce and a small business club site that is 2 years out of date.

The only events I can find are the business breakfasts run by 4networking. Maybe you could start your own? Dunfermline Talks Business was set up recently by Kallum Russell for the very reason that there was no networking group there!

That's a possiblitiy, but it's only worth doing if there's nothing already organised locally.
