Is there anything in particular that you'd like advice on in the short-term?

Thank you I have Many varied questions I was pretty much forced into making life changing decisions in July 2005 I had until then worked as a manager for a cleaning company. Thing gradually got worse and I felt I was getting little or no support from The Managing Director in fact what happened was the opposite I was so good at my job that over time he dispensed with all the support below me and my job description changed without notice I began running the whole show with little reward for my efforts. So here I am somewhat confused somewhat excited I formed The Exeter Cleaning Company Ltd and set about obtaining contracts. But oh how I wish I knew more I feel so inadequate in many areas such as payroll and general accounting although I believe I am very good at winning contracts and keeping my employees happy. I suppose it is getting near the time of my accounting period and I am just worrying that I have not paid enough attention. Money as always been an issue and my company was formed with very little I am now averaging 5k a month and business has grown from the start. I have had so much expense that it has eaten into any profit and I believe I have taken slightly more than I have paid myself through my payroll out of neccesaty. I still operate the business and it pays and has paid for everything it has required so far but the worry is the defecit between my payroll and what I have actually taken which may be around £3000 difference. I incur childcare costs and other associated costs which very soon diminish any drawings I make from the company can I offset any of these?
Your slightly panicked

Might be an idea to post your question in the accounting forum as some of the people with those sorts of skills might not read this forum

Hiya Mark!
I can really relate to the feelings of panic. We set up our business 3 years ago and it's just a whole new world isn't it?
I can't be a lot of help with the payroll / accounting queries cos I'm worse than useless at that stuff(!) but if you have any questions about recruitment, HR or training, please let us know.
Good luck,

Hi Mark,
Starting a business is always nervy. You have done the hard bit and lasted the first 6 months WELL DONE.
As with most businesses fixed costs will be a killer along with cash flow. I run an independent telecom company and may be able to help you with reducing your fixed costs and cash flow. call me if you wish to talk.
