Not much time left, but I thought some people might be interested, it's a great opportunity:
There's a chance to redesign the BBC website - winner receives a high end Apple laptop, a visit to the BBC and have their design implemented and showcased on the bbc.co.uk homepage later this summer.

Hurry, closing date is May 25th!

You can say that if it's an unknown company asking for free work. But redesigning the bbc website?

Yep, I suspect they'd end up paying the high-end (if not more) of 5 figures for that. But, I would sleep very well at night having BBC.co.uk on my companies portfolio.

Exactly.
Or, put it another way, how much would it cost to buy the publicity and credibility that would come with designing the BBC site?

They don't own the design if you win the comp...

The BBC are already on my client portfolio :)
I love the kids area on BBC.co.uk. Even my four year old can use that site.

Make sure you read the description as to why it's that way. I'm sure I don't need to suggest we could have make it visually a lot better, yet ruined the entire purpose of the home page, which is what I feel many of the submissions have done.

Great work Tom.
As you said, it all depends on their criteria which is a bit vague to say the least !
Your design and layout meets my criteria for usability and convenience. The overall visual style is not a million miles away from what they have already and that could work in your favour if they are looking for more the organisation and usability factors instead of just the aesthetic angle.
Simply excellent Tom, good luck.

I mean they get millions from the licence and now they also want us to redesign the website for them.
