4Networking Colchester

Hiya All,

I attended the Colchester meeting for 4Networking meeting and I have to say I was rather impressed.

Things were really relaxed and it was really easy to speak to people, I made some great contacts and the cost seems reasonable.

Just thought I'd share my experiences!

That's good to know, I have heard that 4networking is a good meeting, but I haven't been to one yet. I think my nearest is Bury St Edmunds.

I must admit I was a bit worried it would be a pressured-networking thing, but everyone was really welcoming and the setup made it very easy to start talking to people straight away.

I haven't been to a networking meeting for near-on 2 years, so this was a refreshing return to the 'scene'!

There are loads of business networking organisations around now, do not join the first one you go to it may be a mistake.

4N is a very expensive way of networking, there are much cheaper and better choices around. 4N costs a minimum of £1,000 a year to attend and if you do network 4 days a week will cost you over £2,500. Will you bring in over £1,000 income? The answer is no.

The thing that 4N do not tell you is that the vast majority of people who take out a membership on one of their short term deals never renew. Which is pretty much a negative testimonial.

The is a FREE networking meeting run in conjunction with the FSB every two weeks 4.30pm at The Crown, Ardleigh, next meeting 21st Jan, no pressure.

Another in Ipswich on Tuesday mornings costing you £2 a meeting. Other breakfast meetings without any pressure that are half the cost of 4N such as BoB Clubs.

It will prove to you that you do not need to spend £1,000 a year on networking in an organisation that you will not join long term.

Appreciate your post Rhodes - I did really like 4N, but I do want to explore other options first, given the cost of about £500 a year plus the £10 per meeting (the latter I think is a little cheeky).

I think I'll go to the Crown at Ardleigh - do you have any more info on how that works, as I'm guessing a pub at 5pm is fairly busy?

You basically just stand around having a drink after work, chatting to the people there. There is then an opportunity to give a quick 30 second formal introduction to your business so can identify who you havent spoken to but should be, then a 10 minute talk.

There is a dedicated area in the pub, it is quite large for the group, oh and there is also some food provided!
