Hi

Can't contain myself any longer! Andy from Yetis will be doing this properly for me, but we can now announce that we've won the catering contract for Colchester Borough Council. This means we're now the sole provider for council staff and councillors buffets, refreshments, etc.

Also, we're one of only three caterers now allowed to cater at the Town Hall for private events or provide outside bars.

It's excellent news for us - means new staff, new vehicles, new website (up and running now, but Creospace is waiting for info from me - still), new logo and new menus!! And of course, extra pennies coming in.

We've been through the full tender process which now feels very satisfying. At times we wanted to give up and not bother but I'm very glad we persevered!

Happy days.......ooh happy days....

(And the root of this contract goes back over two years when a local charity asked if we'd do a really cheap buffet for them as they had no money. We did and two weeks later a lady from the council called to say she'd been there and could we do a buffet for the council........ she then recommended us to others...... you know the rest! Maybe a lesson there for everyone starting out)

Happy Hayles

Two press releases from Colchester in one week - not bad!

Well done Hayles you deserve it. I'm often at the council for meetings so next time I eat a sarny I'll know it's one of yours!

Hayley,
Well done on the contract. Now you are on the "inside" can you get the council to sort colchesters new stadium out please.
Many thanks

Michael

PS, and yes Yetis do seem to be popular in colchester at present. I think Andy likes the weather down south? Not sure.

I didn't spot this one when it was posted. Well done Hayles, I'm really pleased to hear you got this - I know you guys we're feeling down a few weeks ago (public sector tendering processes can do that!).

Onwards and upwards!

Congratulations!

Particularly pleased to see that this originated from you helping out a charity. Your kindness is now being repaid :)

Congrats.

Going by some of the newspaper articles I've read recently the councils don't hold back on the food. You should make a tidy amount of money out of that one.

Thanks everyone. One week in (or is it two?) and it's a lot more work than we anticipated. (Although some bookings could just be people checking us out I guess.)

Not only have we got the council bookings each day, but word seems to have got out and we're getting lots of other business and private bookings.

With our main employee off sick, one vehicle down (due to accident weeks ago), and the phone ringing non stop, it's a little bit crazy! :-)
