I'm wondering the same thing.
I'm looking for a mentor to help me take a new product to market. Business Link couldn't help, smarta seems ok, suppose the next thing to try is a business angel

Now, coincidence this may be, but government announces 500,000 public sector jobs to go one week, and 40,000 business mentors the next. So put 2 + 2 together, and you'll soon find that your new business mentor will be recommending efficiency reviews, and that you take on a mimimum of 5 extra staff so that you can monitor perfomance and targets.

I haven't heard anything about this but will be keeping an eye out. It seems like a very good idea but if Business Link is anything to go by the government will probably mess it up in the eyes of most people.

Apparently far from the 40,000 the government had proclaimed it had, there are actually only about 3,000.

Hello,
The Government scheme will signpost to mentors on horsesmouth who are already up and running so I suggest you head there if you don't want to wait for their scheme to get going. This week they've shared some of the stories of their best business mentors - you can see more at on horsesmouth or find our videos on Vimeo.

I have been wanting to look into getting a mentor over the last few months too actually, after running business from a young age, I have kind of done everything my own way and learnt from my own mistakes
not a bad way to learn but I feel its now time to try and take things up a gear professionally
