Hi I have just set up a specialist training business in cheshire which deals primarily in Conflict management/Personal Safety training and security training.

What is that you may ask?

Teaching people to deal with aggressive potentially violent, sometimes intoxicated and most definately threatening Customers, clients, patients etc

Put very simply it involves training someone who in there line of work has to deal with the general public how to not get beaten up. Through;

understanding violence and its Triggers
Predicting violence
Threat ecognition and reaction
Using resolution tecniques to prevent violence
Controlling distance and stance to help provent a spontaneous assault
Understanding use of force guidelines
Effective natural defensive tecniques & breakaway tecniques
Control and Restraint
Dealing with weapons

Courses are developed by a team which is second to none in both real world experience and academic background.

Courses are tailored to the needs of the organisation as not everyone needs to know control and restraint, but understanding violence and aggression could be useful if your a Traffic warden :!:

There would surely be a market for this within the NHS, definitley after the nurse was stabbed to death outside a hospital a few days ago!!

What backround do you and your team have?

Hi James, welcome to the forum!

Interesting service. I used to work weekends in a call centre and pretty much every customer was an aggressive one - we had death threats, verbal abuse, the lot! I wish your service had been around then!

My personal background is on of working in nightclub security for 4 years while at university working specifically in trouble venues. I worked all over the north west dealing with some of the nicest people it has to offer. Upon graduating from universitya friend who had just invested in STAND2 Specialsit Training and development (Course writers) approached me with regards to a resale and seperate training company.

The course devolopment team background is second to none including
National Police Self defence trainer x2
Phd in psychometrics
Msc in Psychological Assesment
National Public order tactical advisor
Critical Incident Stress debriefer
HM special forces instructors
Police national firearms instructor

The list is endless all trainers are sourced from ex police or HM forces background. All have full adult education teaching qualifications.

Unfortunately the NHS a huge potential market is chronicly short of cash at the moment so we are looking towards sponsorship from pharmaceutical companies.
