I have mentioned the dirty words, "Making Money Online" and no, I am not advertising anything. I am however very curious to know what people's experiences have been.

My own experience has been one of the strangest ever. I thought I knew quite a bit about scams until I entered that world, and if I didn't know it before, I now know for certain that, "if it sounds too good to be true, then it probably is."

The bright shiny objects are just that, scams and a waste of some considerable energy, and yet there are some people out there making tons of money. It is just very hard to know the good from the bad.

I am not talking here about work from home jobs as I know quite a few people doing that on things like eBay, Virtual assistants etc, so that does exist. Sadly there are even plenty of scams here as well with data entry jobs etc.

I am talking here more about building an online business from scratch and making a full time living or better doing just that. According to all the available business statistics around 98% of all online start-ups fail. That is quite an astonishing statistic and of those that fail, around 90% have spent over $500 trying different things.

I have researched this whole online business scene now for well over a year and have gathered a ton of information. Just to give you an example, if I had signed up to the offers I received in my inbox, for one evening (about 20 emails), it would have cost me over $3,000. According to those offers though I would by now have made close to $3 million.

I did subscribe to a few and read them. Basically all of them offered the same thing and also then offered upgrades so as they would have cost even more. I had bought them all through Clickbank, so I did get full refunds on them all.

I have now worked out how it is possible to make money online but my main issue now is scalability. To make a few pounds involves quite a bit of time and hard work, and technical know how. I am trying now to automate and outsource quite a bit of the boring stuff.

I would like to know if anyone has had any success with building an online business, and also what scams they came across along the way?

Amazon, ebay, 1001 online companies ;)
any business which has a strong business model where the product can be delivered online should succeed - so plenty of opportunities...

any business which has a business model based on sand rather than rock will fail as much online as offline...
