Motor industry?

Is anyone in the motor vehicle industry, I am asking because a lot of our trade garages i.e Car dealerships seem to have gone very very quiet and I was just wondering if the industry has seen a slump in sale's thats all.:)

I work part time for an aftermarket supplier - September was our busiest month ever. October is good. We seem to be bucking the trend.

I am not sure if we are taking a larger slice of a smaller pie (our competition seem to be cocking up) or if customers at the dealerships are being more demanding on extras.

It just seems that our trade customers only want to use us when its a last minute thing take yesterday for example they wanted a handsfree kit fitted on that day because they had forgot to do it, we even convenience them by doing it on their premises but even that just isnt enough, I dont know what else we can do I'm always on the phone and emailing them but they are not interested until they cock things up.

Are you not answering the question yourself? If they needed a hands free kit done by you because they forgot to do it or only get in touch when they much up...

Seems to suggest they dont actually need you as they do it all themselves in the main and only need you when their back is against the wall?

So by default you are only a backup than an actual service provider for them?
