I saw the following article on the BBC.co.uk just now.
The Joy of Subtitles
it descibes the fact that of the 7.5 million people who use subtitles only 1.5 million have a hearing impairment.

If you consider a similar proportion of perfectly normal people wanting to use your website with large text for instance I think this emphasises how important usability and accessability in web design is even if your target market are 'norms'.
I was hoping that this further evidence of how important this aspect of website design is would make even home webmasters really think about how important it is to consider how other people use the web.
I know it was a Eureka moment for us when we stopped thinking about our design skills and more about who was using the website.
